The First Category 4 Stand Alone Safety Switch
COMITRONIC, a French manufacturer and world-wide distributor of BTI branded safety equipment have recently revolutionised machine safety by launching the Vigil range of safety switches.
These stand alone, non-contact safety switches, equipped with an integrated self-control system are the first in the world to reach the safety category 4 according to the EN 954-1 without connection to a separate safety relay!!!
The switch is designed with two independent, interactive coded electronic systems. If one is defective, the system will shut down in a fail-safe mode. The internal failure detection is based on self-monitoring closure of one of the contacts of the safety line.
The switches consist of two parts a receiver and a transmitter mounted on a door of a machine. As soon as the door opens, or if the system fails, it is detected and the machine stops until the door closes or until the system failure is rectified. LED indication is also available.
The VIGIL uses unique, totally electronic technology ACOTOM 3 ®, based on a multi-decoding system, which, unlike competing reed contact based systems, is completely tamper-proof.
The VIGIL switches are housed in an easy to mount polycarbonate case and equipped with 3, 6 or 12 m long cable. It is possible to connect up to 30 Vigil switches in series. There are 2 versions: VIGIL SXR or VIGIL SXRS. VIGIL SXR reaches safety category 3, VIGIL SXRS reaches safety category 4 without a safety relay. The monitored manual reset is integrated in the VIGIL SXRS version.

New Pressure Transmitters
We are pleased to be able to add the AST range of pressure sensors from American Sensor Technologies to our range of temperature and pressure products.
This excellent range includes Low Cost, Differential, Submersible, High Range and Hazardous Area versions, plus a battery powered indicator. All versions are of full stainless steel construction with all welded seals and no 'O' rings.
A wide range of electrical and pressure connections coupled with pressure ranges from 5 p.s.i. to 60,000 p.s.i. means the AST range can meet most customers requirements.
Custom designed versions can also be supplied.
New Website up and running...
We last overhauled our website back in 2004 and we thought it was well overdue a face lift.
We hope that you like the new 'style' which now includes drop down menus for our re-structured departments.
You may find that some of the subcategories in these drop downs do not currently have products associated with them. Our sales engineers are working hard to add additional products to our web site database and also to attach PDF data sheets to give our customers a much richer experience from our site.
We hope that the increased level of information on our product line will help to give a far more informed choice when selecting products to meet your requirements.

Energy Monitoring
A range of metering products are available to provide display of either energy, or energy and all other electrical parameters, providing output in the form of an energy pulse or RS495 communication. Associated current transformers are also available to provide the input to the metering, either for new or retrofit applications.
Interface equipment is also available to connect the meters to the monitoring software. These include an IP converter to make data suitable for Ethernet or web data monitoring, pulse converter to collect pulses from any energy meter and convert to RS485, and buffer units to increase the number of units that can be connected to a system and convert to RS232 for standard PC interface.
Software is also available in various forms to allow the user to gather data from energy meters and provide trend and interval data for monitoring and targeting purposes.

We are pleased to advise that the popular TAIBB range of current transformers are now available with 1A secondary current. Primary currents available from stock are: 40A, 50A, 60A, 80A, 100A, 150A and 200A. Now Available - 2 New Kilowatt Hour Meters
We are pleased to announce the launch of two new Kilowatt Hour Meters.
The CE20 kilowatt hour meter is a direct reading single phase unit, available in four models for up to 63A direct connection.
The unit is housed in a compact 35mm DIN rail mounting enclosure and provides clear indication by means of LCD display.
In addition to kilowatt hours, the unit will also display amps, volts and kilowatts, selectable by means of a pushbutton on the front of the unit. The kilowatt hour reading may be reset by the same means, but may be rendered tamperproof by means of a clear front cover.
The KWHD35 Kilowatt Hour Meter is a low cost three phase electronic kilowatt hour meter with an LED display housed in a 96x96mm flush mounting enclosure, offering class 1 accuracy to EN61036. Current transformer ratios may be programmed by means of switches located under the front fascia.
